Skin Food: Egg White Pore Foam Cleanser

img_3361Hi lovelies! This week I have for you a skincare review! I love skincare, but I feel like I don’t show it enough on my blog, please let me know if you’d like to see more of that! About a month ago, Skinfood was kind enough to send me a box of goodies to try out. I wanted to give my skin some time to test them out before talking about them on my blog. Now that I’ve gotten a chance to try them, I’ll be doing reviews on them. If you haven’t heard of Skinfood before this post, they are a Korean brand. They believe that”nutritive foods result in nutritive beauty for healthy, beautiful skin”. They have a wide range of products with different foods and functions for all skin types. To read more about their beliefs and products – click HERE. Today, I am reviewing their Egg White Pore Foam cleanser. If you’d like to know more about it then just keep reading!img_3364I use the Egg White Pore Foam cleanser 3-4 times a week in sync with my Caolion cleanser and I love it! I don’t use it daily only because at the moment I have separation anxiety with my Caolion cleanser…(it’s amazing), but I do love it enough to add it into my rotation. I’ve read lots of great things about what egg whites can do for your skin, especially your pores so I knew I was going to enjoy this cleanser. If you aren’t familiar with egg white benefits for your skin, the protein in it is great for acne and wrinkles, and it’s nice and tightening for your pores. As an acne-prone, oily/combination girl, its benefits are super important to me. Although it is physically impossible shrink your pores, there are ways you can blur and tighten them. Masks and facials are a great way to keep your pores clean and tight (believe it or not, cleaning your face every day doesn’t get rid of 100% of everything inside), but I find that this Egg white pore foam cleanser is a quick and easy way of doing just that. FYI: I like to remove my make up before I cleanse my face and then I go in with a cleanser. I use it after or in the shower because the steam helps prep my pores for a deeper clean. It’s a squeaky clean but not drying on the skin. I have oily and combination skin but I feel like this product can be for all skin times as long as you follow up with the appropriate products for the balance of your skin. After I use it, I follow up with my essence, serums and night creams. I definitely notice that my pores appear cleaner and tighter. The amount of oil produced throughout the day has been very minimal (which is rare for me). And I do notice that when I do get the occasional (that time of the month) breakout, the blemishes appear much smaller! Moving onto the packaging and scent…the packaging is super cute! I don’t notice any leakage, which can happen with cleansers sometimes if the cap is flimsy. The packaging is sturdy and cute! The scent smells very perfumey (not offensive) though. If scent is important to you in a product, you would like this cleanser. Because scent is not important to me (I don’t really like them), that kind of worked against its favor for me. It’s nice but it makes it seem less natural to me. But I know many people like nice scented cleansers. Below is a collective rating, I hope that helps condense everything for you all. πŸ™‚

Overview: 4/5

Breakdown: Effectiveness: 5/5, Foams: 5/5, Scent: 3/5, Packaging: 5/5 (it’s so cute! + no leakage). Good for: sensitive, oily, combination skin types. (Dry skin – give it a try! I don’t have dry skin but with proper after care this should not dry you out).

So in conclusion, if you’re looking for a nice every day cleanser that is not too drying but helps with oil and pores, you should definitely try this one out! It can be difficult to find a Skin Food store here in the US, but if you have an Ulta near you, some of their products are now sold there! (Yay!) Hope you enjoyed this post. If you would like to see more Skin Food reviews, please subscribe to my blog so you can be notified when a new post is up! I have a handful of other products to review and I can’t wait to share them with you!
